PRESENT (2023)

Vietnam

This was our big trip this year. We spent 4 weeks in this fabulous country, travelling from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). On the way south we visited Halong Bay, Da Nang, Hue, Hoi An and the Mekong delta. The last week was spent relaxing in Phu Quoc, taking in some rays and swimming in the sea. There are nine images here, out of the thousand images I took! Are they the best? I doubt it, but they do represent to me something about the essence of the trip.

Austria

Another trip, this time only for a week. It was a holiday with a group of dear friends. Not a ‘photographic holiday’, but I did take my Fujifilm X100 compact camera with me. You cannot remove the photographer in me! The photographs here are in and around Salzberg.

Speedway

I was a member of Paisley Colour Photographic Club (www.paisleycolour.com) and in late summer they had an outing to the Glasgow Tigers Speedway. I had never photographed action before and I found this amazing, totally different to anything I had done before. I went to two race meetings and here is a sample of images taken before the evening light levels dropped off, making photography difficult. I will be back there in 2024, once the daylight picks up, to work on improvment of my action shots.

Levern Camera Club (Barrhead)

I joined this club in September, it is local to me and I really like the format. It is a club where the emphasis is on hands-on photography. Everyone mucks in on club nights and is willing to give anyone a hand in getting a good image. I will be changing the images here as the year marches on and use the blog to post updates, once I learn how to!
