Dining Room

You need to take yourself back to the 1850’s and the Coupers have invited you to dinner. After being greeted at the door, you are led past the Mossman fireplace in the hall and into the dining room. The table is set out, candles lit, and there you are standing by the black marble fireplace, waiting to be asked to take your seat. Food is laid out on the marble serving table under the watchful eye of Homer and the Muses. You look around at the Flaxman Friezes depicting the Illiad and the battle between the Trojans and Greeks. You can see Archilles, Homer and the Gods and heroes of a bygone age. The symmetry of the interior design, the detail on the American Pine woodwork and the luxurious Luma painted walls, all speak of opulence.
